The Train and the Bull

So, on Saturday our good friends Ray & Gill asked us whether we would fancy a trip by train to Birmingham to go to the Christmas market there.
So we said:
"What, Sir? Us, Sir? Go, Sir? On Sunday, Sir? Sure, Sir!!"
and off we went!

Unfortunately that very day was also the day that "The Clothes Show" was on in Birmingham.
Surely the train company will have catered for that, seeing that this is an annual event!?
What do you think?? (See below)

We did however manage to get a seat and eventually got to Birmingham New Street Station, which borders onto the Bullring Shopping Centre!
Can you spot the bull?? (I know it is hard!)

Here then are a few pictures from the Christmas market and of us eating and drinking everything in site!

That's one way of warming your hands!

Nice, festive photos! Thanks for sharing -- it's very sunny and temps are in the mid-60s here, so the Christmas "atmosphere" is quite different. At least at church we have the Advent wreath to remind us of the season.

looks like you had a great time but I sure would not have wanted to be on that train!! It was tough to spot the bull but finally found it after a few minutes of looking ;) I enjoyed the photos :) and too funny about the Italian Job below!! :)

So, that's it is it? I write a new post on my blog (at last), under your orders. "I'll write a comment on it tomorrow", you say. I should have known... :'-(

"A-haa!" *hello daddy!*

Nice post about you day out in Birmingham. I've commented, you see? Now it's your turn ;-)

Love from daughter No. 2

P.S. how dare you leave this morning without giving me a hug :-(

For shame, Erik! Don't you know that THE most important man in a girl's life is her Daddy? Don't EVER forget to hug your kids, regardless of your/their age.

Tee hee -- just had to tease you.

Come back to visit again soon.

Tonya -
Well done for spotting the bull! Must have taken you a fair while, huh?!

Desert Songbird -
You wouldn't believe how often I hug that daughter of mine! Any more and she would be permanently attached to me!! But, I do take the re-buff and will wake her up next time before I leave home, then she can blame you for that, heehee!!!!

Victoria -
I did promise to leave a comment on your blog and I apologise for not doing so!
I have however now left the mother of all comments! :-)

Vicki -
Thanks for visiting my blog again! It was indeed a fun day and the Christmas market made us feel as rosey-cheeked!

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Did you get much Christmas shopping done?

Good photos! Quite the crowded train and Christmas market but it looked like a lot of fun. ec

I thought that garbage can was on fire!

But then I looked closer. What a strangely interesting invention. Is it's sole purpose warmth, light or both?

Thank you, Desert Songbird. At least one person has their priorities in the right order! Hugging one's daughter comes 1st - everything else comes 2nd! ;-)

What a fun trip, minus that claustrophopic train ride of course.

I, too, thought the litter bin was on fire. You need to explain that one.

I'm glad I finally found that bull, I thought I would never find it.

Apart from the train ride... what a fun looking event.
