Is it a Bird? Is it a plane??

No, it is just The Electronic Firefly signing on to say that all is well.
When I left work a month ago I was under the impression that I would have plenty of time to blog every day but image my shock when exactly the opposite happened.
I really do not know how I had time to work!!
We have been visited by an Estonian family -Estonia is on the Baltic Sea opposite Finland and to the left of Russia - just in case you wondered.
They were nice people and they stayed in our house for a couple of nights. Since I was off work I took them to see a bit of the area around where we live.
We visited the Cotswold's, Blenheim Palace and Oxford amongst others.
Here are some pictures for you:

Now that is what I call a Whisky!! OMG!!

Apart from the Estonian visiting us I have done lots of little D.I.Y. jobs around the house,
such as:

Putting up mirrors

Putting up shelves

Painting the Summerhouse

So there you have it! I am still alive and doing fine!
Thanks for all your comments and I will try and blog more often!
Blessings!
Me.

Ah-h-h! What a wonderful little 'day trip' I just took. The pics are so nice and make me want to visit those places.
As far as the "chores," everything looked fairly well under control to me. What neat shelves. Mine are a bit more messy. Makes me want to go straighten them...Nah!

What a beautiful place for a day trip! My favorite picture is the bridge over the stream (Bourton-on-the-Water).

Lovely! I want to come there NOW! :)

Those are great pictures. I kind of wish the Estonian family had been an Oregonian family (mine). It looks like you all had a great time.

And good job on the DIY work!

Welcome back.

You were in the cotswolds and you didn't pop on down to Bristol. I love B-O-W and S-O-W and Oxford but haven't visited either for many years.

I must show embee those shelves I have been wanting some more put up in my cellar - or do you feel like the commision? By the way I think we might have similar shopping lists!!

That summerhouse looks a quiet haven.

okay as usual I have questions questions questions.

What was the family doing? what is their story? (the family staying with you)

The boats.. who uses them and where do they take you?

The buildings are just beatiful. I'd love to visit there someday. I love old buildings.

I was just reading a novel that takes place in England, and some of the "action" is sent amongst narrow boats. I'm not familiar with them, so trying to picture them was tricky. How timely that you posted this photo of some!

Love that photo from Bourton-on-the-Water!

I enjoyed your photos. So different from scenery around here!

That's why I enjoy working--it's easier than being home, LOL.

Good to have you back.

Dear very nice man. That whiskey photo is so funny! Made even funnier by your caption.

Coulda been taken in Ukraine - he looks like a Ukrainian too. And this is why I am sick after just one shot of vodka.

oh and PS. Your photos look lovely. I wanna visit too. Do you want to host a 'ukrainian' family?

Thanks for all your comments.
Here are some answers to your questions:

The Estonian family is apparently related to me (according to my uncle who researched this stuff).
I met the lady in London once before so when they decided to visit England, we offered for them to stay at our place.

The narrow-boats are mostly owned by ordinary people who use them like others would use a yacht or some other boat. They take day-trips or weekend trips or even trips lasting a week or two. They use the canals which there are quite a few of here in England - so you can go a long way if you really wanted.

Would we have an Oregonian or Ukrainian family staying with us??
Absolutely!!

Thanks for answering my questions. interesting about the family being related to you. And those boats! I want to come visit just to ride them. can you fish in that river?

Okay now.. Summer House? That's a gazebo. LOL

Your answers could be another post on it's own LOL I could go on and on with questions.
