Jesus and His Followers at the Theme Park
Last Saturday about 25 young people from our church including 4 drivers set off early in the morning to have a fun day out at Alton Towers, Englands main Theme Park followed by a Christian Concert in the evening.
It was a great day and we met old friends from other churches in our area which we hadn't seen for some time.
Here are the pictures:
The Ripsaw ride
The Nemesis ride
The Oblivion ride
Don't look down?? Too late!! Aaaaaaaahhhhh!!!
The Enterprise ride
The Spinball Whizzer ride
The Flume ride
Erik and Victoria on the Flume ride
Meeting up for lunch
Queueing for the rides
Some of the gang at the Runaway Mine Train ride
At the Christian Concert sponsored by Compassion UK
Slowly filling up
Ever seen 6000 people take their shoes off as the band sings:
"Take off your shoes, you're standing on holy ground!"?
Yup! I am grateful to be a Christian, saved by the grace of God!

Incredible photos again, Erik. I got to "ride" the rides through your experience.
Glad you had fun!
What great photos! Sounds like a wonderful trip, and good for the youth. I am also very proud of you for getting on a ride or two.
So...did you take off your shoes?
OH, I just wish I could hear the clever accents!
where did my comment go?
Well I said I got queazy just looking at those pictures,
Oh my poor tummy...
My kids loved Oblivion when they went to Alton Towers............I don't!!! Hex and Flume are enough for me!
This looks such a good day out. I've never been to Alton towers but the rides look similar to some of the disney ones. You take such wonderful photos it feels like you're there. Not sure about Oblivion!
Looks like a great day. My brother went to Alton Towers last year - thought it was a great time. His first UK amusement park. Some of those rides make me quesey just looking at the pictures!
Your rides are different from ours; I enjoyed seeing them. Gosh, it's been a while since I've been on a roller coaster.
6000 people with their shoes off? Whew!
Hey Dad,
Thanks for your comment on my latest post. Will do!
Love you lots :-)

Your pictures are fun though I have a confession about the first picture. I thought the ride looked like a huge device to torture the Christians. However, I can tell by the smiles that all had a good time.
That looks like so much fun! Glad you had a great day! :)
Wow, I got dizzy just looking at those coaster pictures. Looks like a great day!
