The Stewkley Walk
Since the weather decided to remain good this weekend, Garry, Christine, Jan and I did another countryside walk - this time around the village of Stewkley in Buckinghamshire.
Here are the pictures:
There are 2 pubs in Stewkley. Start at "The Swan Inn".
Have a beer in the pub gardens
Set off past the chickens on the farm at the bottom of the lane
Mind the goose
Ensure you all wear dark glasses
Don't frighten the horses
Say 'Hello' to Shaun, the sheep!
Bridge the gaps
Admire the view over the rapeseed fields
Blend in with the countryside
Stay away from the horns
Single-file back into Stewkley
Stop at the second pub for another beer
Tiptoe past the Methodist church
Along some old houses
and some newer ones trying to look old
A converted and twice extended barn
Admire 'St Michael & All Angels' church
and a cottage of beauty!

I enjoyed your walk.
Thanks for taking us on your walk. I love the look of your houses.
I love these walks you take. I get to enjoy the scenery without wearing myself out! Great photos. Thanks so much for sharing.
I enjoyed your walk too. The weather was pleasant in this part of the world today as well. My husband went for a walk in the woods and attended a Methodist church in the morning.
when I come to visit... you're taking me on that same walk.
love the skinny bridge. I'll have to cross it twice to fit across
so gorgeous!
i hope on your list of things to be thankful for, you have included a wife who enjoys long, leisurely walks, and such a beautiful backdrop.
wow - i'm envious (in all the best ways of course!)
Beautiful photos!
Okay - now I'm wondering about the blue stuff on the sheep. What gives?
it looks so English and inviting.
And hey...do all your walks end up or start with pubs?
Glad you get your priorities right find the location of the pubs first. Looks like another lovely walk and those houses are beautiful (envy)
Pictures are nice. Is the sheep colored with easter colors ?
That was lovely Erik! Your pubs have gardens? That is a great idea. Our pubs just have parking lots.
Why is the sheep blue? Is he destined to be a blue sweater or something?
Wonderful, thank you for sharing! (The last photo was my favorite.)
Dear veryniceman. What a lovely walk! I have a book here called 'Time Out Country Walks' and when I visit UK next - hopefully in the summer - I'm going to compete with you for the best walking photos! PS the beer garden at the pub looks mighty civilised - not like Aussie ones!
I loved going on your walk! My brother and sister in law live in London. We're trying to plan a trip over to see them in the fall and your pics make me want to see the countryside also.
