The Challenge is on!!

Hello, neglected blog friends!!
Sorry I have been a miserable blogger but I am in the middle of being made redundant and need to sort stuff out! Yeah, I know . . Merry Christmas!
So, as a token of trying to make it up to you I challenge you to ask me one question each and I promise I will answer it truthfully! (Gulp!!)
So ask before change my mind!!

I was just listening to a tape of a German lady we know. She had done broadcasts about Christmas in English back in her days in Lahr. It was quite delightful. My question: do you find that Germans celebrate Christmas more or differently than the English?

(I'm very sorry about your difficulties and hope that everything will work out well for you.)

Yes, Germans have actually quite a hard time enjoying Christmas! It is all a bit too sombre! They decorate everything beautifully, set the perfect scene but they just miss most of the fun. Shame really. I always hated German Christmas! The love was missing!

Hmm, you've been very forthcoming with me of late, so I don't really have any burning desire to ask a question. Give me a day or so, though, I might come up with something!

Hi, Desert Songbird, nice to see you are still here visiting my blog. I am currently in meetings all day and have little time to blog. I value your support and thank you for being a friend!

If you could have one gift material of anything you wished for AND one gift of any Christmas wish granted what would you ask for?

Yara -
Thank you for your kind words! Look forward to the question!

Deana -
For a material gift I would choose
One Million Pounds to give away to people who really need it or failing that the entire series (I think it is 7 now) of SCRUBS on DVD just for me!
My Christmas gift granted would be for everyone to meet the Lord. The world would be like heaven to be in!
Great question!! Thanks

do you fart in public? I mean even if it's quiet.. do you go ahead and do it anyway?

The very nice man said...

Amongst friends I do but in general - no! I wouldn't like it if my wife did so I don't do it either.

Were you ever in the Army and if so what years? I worked with a good number of British guys at NATO Headquarters (SHAPE) when it was outside of Paris, France from 1960-62. Had to post this anonymous to get it to go. This is mreddie.

Question - whats the worst thing you ever received as a Christmas present, and who was it from?

I forgive you for your absence.. I've been terrible slack lately too.

Desert Songbird said...

Oh, Erik, now wouldn't I still visit you? I have no intention of "leaving" you, even if I can't think of a question to ask you!

Mreddie - Yes, I was in the army from 1977 - 1979 so a wee bit later than you. :-)

Marnie -
The worst thing I ever got as a Christmas present was a handmade jumper from my girlfriend. The jumper was top notch but it was the worst present because I had decided to break up with her and that made it even harder, especially because (being a selfish swine in those days) I wanted (and did) keep the jumper!

Desert Songbird -
Thanks, girl! Good to know you are still madly in love with me ;-)

I don't really have any questions to ask as of yet but I sure hope things work out for you :) You are so sweet and the whole made redundant thing just sucks.

Tonya,
Thank you so much for your encouraging words!
Yes, it sucks but that is life and sometimes things happen outside our control but . . God is in charge and He has my life firmly in His loving arms, so I am safe!

I know this is tardy, but I have a question. What do you love most about your wife?

Finally, here's my question:

If you had one last dinner, one final meal with which you could share with 12 people and 12 people only, whom would you invite (living or deceased)? No fair saying Jesus Christ because that's a given.

Whom would be present and why? You can also provide details on location and food served if you wish.
